The best pizzerias on the Amalfi Coast

Who said that a good pizza can only be eaten in Naples? Even on the Amalfi Coast there is no shortage of addresses where to enjoy an excellent pizza: fried, stuffed or traditional, to be eaten sitting down or walking around. And this starts in Tramonti, a town that has exported the art of pizza-making throughout Italy and beyond.
That said, here is a selection of the best pizzerias on the Divine Coast.
Pizzeria Vaccaro in Tramonti

Also known as the “homeland of pizza makers”, Tramonti is the only Italian municipality to have received De.Co. (communal denomination) recognition for its pizza, which differs from Neapolitan pizza in its dough (a mixture of different cereals enriched with wild fennel) and baking (longer at a temperature of around 300-350 degrees). The result is a highly digestible pizza, crispier on the outside and softer on the inside. At Pizzeria Vaccaro (located at number 35 Via Vaccaro) you will find one of the best examples of Tramontano-style pizza. What makes this pizzeria special is the seasonality of the pizzas, made with fresh vegetables grown directly in the family garden, and the fresh preparation of the ingredients so that the flavours and organoleptic properties are always intact.
Ristopizzeria Che Bontà in Praiano

Absolutely not to be missed is the pizza at the Ristopizzeria Che Bontà in Praiano. It is located along Via Guglielmo Marconi, a few minutes’ walk from our boutique hotel, and is very popular with locals and tourists alike. Family atmosphere, impeccable service and fresh, local ingredients are its strong points. Here pizza is conceived according to the rules of haute cuisine with skilful combinations that make it unique. New techniques of slow rising and dough preparation guarantee high digestibility and make their pizzas a pleasant temptation to indulge in. Try the Donna Sofi with tomato ragout, smoked provola cheese from Agerola, strips of aubergine parmigiana, basil and Parmesan.
Pizzeria Divina Vietri in Vietri sul Mare

Another name to mark down is that of Pizzeria Divina Vietri in Vietri sul Mare. Located at number 31 Via Passariello, it specialises in “seafood-flavoured” pizzas (a true all-seafood gourmet) but you can also find a vast assortment of earthy or classic pizzas. Their philosophy is to try to achieve with a few elements a simple flavour that enhances the key ingredient on which the pizza of your choice is based. Among the countless pizzas on offer, we recommend the Divina Vietri with octopus soppressata marinated in evo oil and sfusato amalfitano, cream of potatoes, piccadilly tomatoes, fior di latte, fresh chopped parsley and lemon oil.
Pizzeria Il Piennolo in Cetara

In the picturesque village of Cetara, amidst the fishermen’s houses dominated by the Saracen tower, a few steps from the sea, is Pizzeria Il Piennolo, immediately appreciated for the uniqueness of its culinary proposal, made up of high quality refined products, selected from the fabric of Campania and especially from small local producers. Despite its strong roots in tradition, Piennolo stands out for its boldness and creativity. It offers a wide choice of pizzas to satisfy every palate. The classic margherita, a contemporary Neapolitan, is very good, but we suggest you also try the Nerano and the one with tuna, to keep with the Cetarese theme.
Restaurant-Pizzeria Giardiniello in Minori

Located in the heart of the historic centre of Minori, precisely at number 17 Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Giardiniello is a historic restaurant-pizzeria on the Amalfi Coast. In its seventy years of history, it has welcomed a large number of celebrities: Maradona, Lino Banfi, Pippo Baudo, Sal Da Vinci and Jim Parsons are just some of the personalities who have sat at its tables. The pizza dough involves the use of special flours and a long, natural rising process. What comes out is a tasty, light and easily digestible pizza. It has an interior room decorated with handmade ceramics and a beautiful terrace, open from spring to autumn.
Pizzeria Ai Galli in Agerola

Hidden in the hills of Agerola, a village that climbs six hundred metres up the vertiginous promontory of the Amalfi Coast, Pizzeria Ai Galli was listed by Gambero Rosso as one of the best pizzerias in Italy in 2022 and 2024. Named after the street on which it stands, it is ideal for those seeking a genuine experience far from the chaos of the city. It offers a pizza reminiscent of the “agerolana” pizza in a contemporary, ultra-light version. Only carefully selected raw materials from small local producers are used. Gambero Rosso recommends trying the Agerolese pizza with fiordilatte (fresh milk cheese), oven-dried onion, artisan pancetta and basil.
