The Parco del Dragone in Scala

Located about 15 kilometres from our boutique hotel, the Parco del Dragone in Scala is a treasure trove of greenery and tranquillity where one can take a break from the chaos of the city. The brainchild of the late engineer Gaetano Capasso, who always followed and encouraged the development of the oldest municipality on the Amalfi Coast, it covers 5,000 square metres and is divided into terraces, each one dedicated to a different activity for both adults and children.

The park offers a nature trail with unusual perspectives on the area, through animated sculptures and fountains, interactive games and installations, secret passages and an interactive labyrinth. The route culminates in the suggestive Grotta del Dragone, the largest karstic cave on the Amalfi Coast. It is a magical place, to say the least, that will transport you on an exciting journey through time and space. Entering it you will be fascinated by the amazing natural spectacle that will appear before your eyes. The cave is full of stalactites and stalagmites as white and smooth as Carrara marble, in the most diverse shapes, as if they were artistic creations sculpted by a divine hand and placed there to generate wonder and mystery. Don’t forget your camera because there are so many wonderful photos to be taken.
Furthermore, inside the park you can find: a cool and shaded picnic area, ideal for spending a day with family and friends; a refreshment area, which offers the possibility of enjoying drinks (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic) and snacks (bruschettone, sandwiches, salads, toasts, etc.), and a perfect atmosphere for socializing or simply relaxing; a play area to entertain your children with swings, slides, musical games and much more; and an open-air amphitheater with seats where events and shows of various types are presented, from which you can also enjoy a magnificent view of Ravello.
The park is open from April to October. For more information, please visit the official Parco del Dragone website.
