Artist’s Lights in Salerno edition 2023-2024

From Friday, Nov. 24, 2023 to Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024, Salerno is scheduled to host the 18th edition of Luci d’Artista, the extraordinary display of luminous works of art installed in squares, parks and streets, which over time has affirmed the city’s election as the capital of the Christmas region in Campania. These are works that go beyond the usual end-of-year illuminations: in fact, they are conceived by contemporary artists and qualify for their high scenic value and their depiction of fairy-tale scenes of incomparable factual significance. Every day, starting at 5 p.m. (and until late at night), the lights are turned on and create a magical and evocative atmosphere that involves hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to Salerno to be enchanted by the vision of these fantastic creations.

Luci d’Artista 2023 presents many new, original and unprecedented works of light art. The Municipal Villa showcases Animalandia, the Four Seasons take center stage in Via Mercanti, the Butterfly Fairy dominates the scene in Sedile del Campo, and the Dance of Jellyfish is staged in Piazza Flavio Gioia. Geometries of Christmas in Sant’Agostino and the Worlds of Corso Vittorio Emanuele immerse in the magic of Christmas. Three large trees in the Portanova, Vittorio Veneto and Monsignor Maria Grasso squares. The cathedral is surrounded by angelic hosts and there are many religious figures. Creations inspired by myth, circus, fairy tales and poetry also emerge among the works.

The event, organized by the City of Salerno with the support of the Campania Region, is enhanced by shows, events and opportunities to savor the pleasures of beautiful Salerno that will make the visit even more enjoyable.
