Artist’s Lights in Salerno edition 2024-2025
In keeping with a well-established tradition, during the Christmas period Salerno is transformed into a veritable kaleidoscope of lights and colours thanks to Luci d’Artista, the spectacular en plein air exhibition of luminous works of art that over time has established the city as the capital of the Christmas region of Campania. These works go beyond the usual end-of-year illuminations: in fact, they are conceived by internationally renowned contemporary artists and are qualified by their significant scenic value and their depiction of fairy-tale scenes of unparalleled factual significance.
The event is scheduled to run from 29 November 2024 (with an opening ceremony at 5pm at the Villa Comunale and then at 6.30pm in Piazza Caduti Civili di Brescia, in the eastern part of the city) to 19 January 2025. Every day, starting at 5 p.m. (and until late at night), the lights are switched on and create a magical and evocative atmosphere involving hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to Salerno to be enchanted by the vision of these marvellous creations.
The theme chosen for this 19th edition of Luci d’Artista is ‘We are Nature’, a tribute and a wish for a rediscovered harmony between man and nature. The Villa Comunale is transformed into an ‘illuminated zoo’ populated by sculptures of animals of all kinds, in Piazza Flavio Gioia the illuminations are inspired by space and cinema, Piazza Sedile del Campo hosts the fantastic jellyfish dance installation, and along Corso Vittorio Emanuele over 200 coloured spheres and luminous bodies are the protagonists of the ‘i Mondi’ installation.
The evocative display of artistic illuminations, organised by the City of Salerno with the support of the Campania Region, is enriched by shows, events and opportunities (especially during weekends and holidays) to savour the pleasures of beautiful Salerno that will make your visit even more enjoyable.
